Get to know this tool
Image Cropper lets you cut the exact region you need out of any photo or graphic — with a draggable frame, precise pixel inputs and popular aspect-ratio presets — and download the result as PNG, JPEG or WebP. The whole process runs in your browser: your image is never uploaded to a server.
What is an Image Cropper and Why is it Useful?
Cropping is the most common photo edit there is. Profile pictures need to be square, YouTube thumbnails 16:9, Instagram stories 9:16, print photos 3:2 — and every marketplace, CMS and form seems to demand its own dimensions. Opening a heavy photo editor for a ten-second job is overkill. This tool gives you a fast, focused crop workflow: load, frame, download. Because it reads the image locally with the browser's own APIs, it works offline-fast and keeps private photos private.
Key Features
- Visual crop frame: Drag the selection to move it; pull any of the eight handles to resize it.
- Aspect-ratio presets: Free-form, 1:1 square, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 widescreen and 9:16 story/portrait.
- Pixel-precise control: Type exact width and height values when a platform demands specific dimensions.
- Three output formats: Lossless PNG, adjustable-quality JPEG and modern WebP.
- Full resolution output: The crop is taken from the original file, not the on-screen preview — no quality loss.
- Private by design: Files are processed with the browser's canvas API; nothing is transferred anywhere.
How to Use the Image Cropper?

Why Choose This Tool?
Uploading personal photos to an unknown server just to trim them is an unnecessary privacy trade-off. This cropper does the work with your device's own processing power, so it's instant even for large photos and completely private. The live dimension readout means you always know the exact output size before you download — no surprises when a form rejects your file for being 2 pixels off.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. The crop is extracted from the original image data at 1:1 resolution. Choosing PNG keeps it lossless; JPEG and WebP let you trade a little quality for smaller files with the quality slider.
What image formats can I open?
Anything your browser can display — PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and in most modern browsers AVIF as well.
Can I crop to an exact size like 500×500?
Yes. Select the 1:1 preset, then type 500 into the width field — the height follows automatically. The downloaded file will be exactly that size.
Are my photos uploaded to your server?
Never. The file is read directly into your browser's memory, cropped there with the canvas API, and downloaded from there. Closing the tab removes everything.
